Two weeks after my Uterine Fibroid Embolization

That’s today. I have a couple of post-UFE appointments with my doctors this week to make sure everything is okay but I feel great. No pain, lots of energy, and my appetite is fine. The small incision scar is barely visible.

Here’s a link that talks about Uterine Fibroid Embolization recovery but what did I experience?

  1. Intense pain and nausea during the first 12 hours. I think the nausea was much worse than the pain.
  2. Moderate cramps for a couple of days afterward. I took over-the-counter Motrin.
  3. Vaginal discharge for about 10 days. Mostly mucus-like but some blood was present. Moderate to light.
  4. Digestive problems for about a week. Could not eat solid food. Constipation and stomach pain.

Because it takes some time for fibroids to shrink and die after the UFE, I know I won’t have definitive results for several months. I am still quite happy with my treatment decisions and my state of health up to this point. Mind, body, and spirit are loving life. 😀
