Any “liver-looking” large masses you pass are clots. Fibroids affect the ability of your uterus to contract so the blood pools there and clots before it leaves your body. Fibroid tumors are composed of smooth uterine muscle and would appear grayish white, firm and round. You may pass fibroids if they detach due to a lack of blood supply. Although rare, this is a possible risk with the embolization (UFE) procedure.

I have passed one before. My God it was painful. It looked like an embryo. It was whitest gray and fleshy. Of course, I was misdiagnosed by the ER and Walk-in Clinics. After ruling out pregnancy, they diagnosed me with a kidney stone and put me on Cipro, Vicoden, and Ibuprofen. I knew it was something going on, because Afterwards I was having light-moderate contractions. Also when I took the Cipro, my lower right abdomen was inflamed. That area burned and I could feel heat on that side of my stomach. The 800 mg Ibuprofen worked wonders. I only took a few Vicodin. I was sore for 4 weeks. It was extremely hard for me to walk fast at work or climb the stairs. I stopped working out during that period. My only mistake, was not catching the tissue that I passed. I could of been diagnosed much quicker. Thank Goodness for my doctor who ordered an ultrasound, after the pains went away. I’m glad I agreed to it, because the pains come and go.

I believe I passed a very large fibroid a few years ago. I had been to the doctor concerning heavy menstrual bleeding. I was put on a birth control pill and told to take iron (I was anemic). A few months later, I started having severe lower abdominal pain and cramping. I felt like I was in labor! I went to the bathroom, doubled over in pain. After several minutes, I passed a very large (about the size of a large orange) mass. The mass was fleshy, white and pink and color and heavy. Once I passed the mass, the pain subsided but, I was bleeding very heavily. I was going through a tampon and a pad in less than 2 hours. I was able to get in to see a gyn who insisted I was pregnant and what I experienced was a miscarriage. However, I had not had sex in a year. The pregnancy test was normal. An ultrasound found a thick uterine lining with other fibroids present. After looking at pictures of other fibroids, I told the gyn that looks exactly like what I passed. However, I was told it was not possible. I believe the blood supply had been cut off to that fibroid. Maybe it was twisted. After a period of time, the weight of the large fibroid caused it to break off and I passed it as if I was giving birth. Whatever the case, I am convinced I passed a very large fibroid and it was very similar to actual labor.

I just discovered this site. Can you pass a fibroid while off your period? Also, has anyone passed a fibroid by just naturally shrinking them with herbs and supplements? If so, would you please describe your experience? I believe I may be in the throws of passing one now. I have never given birth, but I’m having a lot of pain on my left side, where the tumor is. Thanks!

I passed a large fibroid , about the size of a large orange about 19 years ago. It was kind of white and looked to have some hair and maybe teeth in places. I did not take it to the Dr, as I should have. I have also passed a couple of smaller ones in the past. Before it passed, I had a burst of thin brown discharge.

The mass with teeth and hair was a teratoma not a fibroid. Fibroids are white tan in color, no hair, no teeth similar to a white potato.

Hi, I currently was in severe pain for a day, something I had NEVER experienced during a period. I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids 3 years ago. Today I was not feeling well at all and had severe pelvic pain. I went to the restroom cause I felt something wrong. I sat down and I felt this really severe pain and I felt something come out that it felt it did not fit. I immediately got up and saw something round greyish white attached to what look like liver which was super thick. I was wondering if it was an actual fibroid not to mention I was given the Depo shot to stop thw bleeding

I know this is old, but I wanted to add here because my IR actually told me that the stringy liver looking things I’ve been passing since my ufe are actually fibroid pieces. I thought clots, but he said no. So they CAN look like clots- or skin- or chicken. Or they can pass as liquid in the form of discharge- the famous “brown slime” that women get after ufe.

I was diagnosed with fibroids and was told I have several. A year before I was diagnosed one came out of me during intercourse. At the time I had no idea what it was and when I asked drs they all said it was vaginal wall shedding but it was smooth round tissue a little larger than a quarter and about a quarter inch – half inch thick. What causes fibroids to fall out on their own
